Quiltin’ and More Retreat
Thank you to all who have participated in our 2nd annual winter "Quiltin’ and More” Retreat. We had a group of 19 ladies, quilters and crafters. Sponsoring such a well received program is very rewarding to us. Your energy feeds our energy. Currently, we are maintaining a waiting list for this popular retreat. The “Quiltin’ and More” Retreat is held at the Countryview Inn, south of Charm, Ohio. We met in a wonderful, well-lit sewing room overlooking the rolling hills of Amish Country. The hosts Paul and Naomi Miller provided most of the scrumptious meals. (All meals and lodging are included in the retreat fee). We used all lodging rooms except for one this year and anticipate all being used next year. We already have all rooms reserved for next years retreat, with many of the rooms already full. Make your reservations early at Hearthside Quilt Shoppe if you are interested.
Dates for the 2009 Retreat are: February 9 – 13 2009.
We added an extra day this year!
If we have enough interest Hearthside will be hosting a 2nd retreat for quilters. This will be a 3 nights, 4 days. The cost is to be determined.
It will be held in February or March of 2009

“Piece by Peace” Quilt Guild
The guild is open to anyone who is interested in quilting, whether you are a beginner, or a seasoned quilter.
Meetings are held the fourth Tuesday night of each month at 6:30 pm.

Project Linus Day
Join together to make quilts for those in need.
Project Linus is a wonderful program designed to bring gifts of comfort and love to those in need. Once a month we are hosting a sewing day to make quilts. These quilts are distributed locally to hospitals, police and fire departments, and women's shelters to be given to women and children in our area that stand in need. The quilts bring not only warmth, but also the knowledge that someone cares and wants to help.
Can't stop in to sew? We have a special Linus Project you can take home and work on at your convenience. Don't Quilt? Knitted and Crocheted Afghans are also accepted. No time to make anything? Donations of tops, fabrics and batting are a great way to clean up your work room and help out a great cause!
Join a group of quilt ladies making quilts for Project Linus. Bring your project, sewing machine and supplies or work on one of ours, cutting, piecing, knotting and binding. Come for a few hours or bring your lunch and spend the day. Free – just call to sign up!

Mystery Quilt 2008
Join us again in making a mystery quilt, each year we have a great time seeing the beautiful results. You can sign up anytime in the month of April for this FREE Club. The first clue will be available on May 1st. Bring in your finished step and get your next step. May 31st will be the last day you can pick up your final step. After you pick it up, you will be able to assemble your quilt, have it quilted (or do it yourself) and then bring it in by July 26th. Prizes will be awarded for the first quilt brought into the shop and for Viewer’s Choice. Remember: your quilt needs to be TOTALLY completed—that means quilted and bound. We want to set up a gallery for a week, August 1 - 9, so everyone can vote on their favorite. At the end of the week, we’ll count the votes and award a “Viewer’s Choice” prize to the one with the most votes. FREE!
Spring Quilt Challenge
Beginning April 7th and finishing up June 26th with a pot luck and brown bag exchange. Stop in at Hearthside to get your Quilt Challenge Fabric, add your fabrics to the challenge fabric and make a wall hanging or table runner. We will put all the challenges in brown bags and have an exchange. You never know, you might end up with your own project! Cost: $5.00

Start a New Project Day
The first Monday of each month will be “Start a New Project Day”. If you choose a new book or pattern and purchase the fabric and supplies for a project to go with them, you can enjoy a 20% discount off your total purchase. Join us to begin something new, something fresh, and something inspirational. (Dates: May 5, June 2, July 7)
Fat Tuesday Fat Quarter Frenzy
Our next big sale is almost here. We’re calling it a Fat Tuesday, Fat Quarter Frenzy and it will be held on Tuesday, April 29; (the 5th Tuesday of the month). Fat quarters will be buy ten, get two free with no limit. Also, any books that primarily relate to fat quarters will be 25% off. We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday, April 29.
